Visit to Grandma's or To the ER

Many kids are hyper, especially after they eat sweets. But some kids can’t help their hyper, which can be known as ADHD. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Many little kids in around the second grade are diagnosed with ADHD due to their behavior. Some include being hyper, not listening, getting distracted and many others. To prevent these actions from happening, and trying to make them better parents and doctors put their kids on medicine. But some of the "drugs" used, such as Ritalin or Adderall, can send kids and teenagers to the emergency room (ER.) These drugs were already known to raise the blood pressure and heart rate of the individual using it. A study in Florida says, "…because of heart-related symptoms, but deaths or serious heart complications are rare." Dr. Almut G. Winterstein and colleagues analyzed the data on experiment also taken place in Florida. The data supports that 55,383 people ages 3 to 20 years old have ADHD. 59% of these people included in the experiment take medication to help seize the disorder. But, the children who use the medicine more for a central nervous system stimulant have a 20% more chance at visiting the ER. The effects of this stimulant are heart-related problems such as a racing heartbeat. Luckily enough scientists are trying to figure out a way where these visits to the ER or doctor’s office will not happen anymore. I don’t understand why scientists didn’t realize this earlier and take an immediate approach at fixing it. If they see that poor little kids, who can’t help their disorder, are rushed to the hospital due to heart problems, then something had to have been thought of, but why not done? I believe that they need to approach this situation more seriously; their kids, why make them suffer?
