The main resource that people use in this world is water. Water is used in households, in industries and in agriculture. But, where does all this water come from? Does it magically appear like a bunny in a hat? Does it come to us whenever we need it? DEFINITELY NOT! Water is a natural resource and makes up oceans, lakes, rivers, aquifers, and is stored in plants. All of the water from the reservoirs is then evaporated into the clouds, which then produce rain. The rain falls back into the reservoirs and the whole process takes place again. Because of the "rotation" of the process, it is called the water cycle. This means that this will happen again and again, one right after the other. But, once the cycle is complete, it finds something else to do. Humans take the water from the reservoir and use it to survive. They use it for drinks, food, hoses, toilets, showers, dishwashers, washing machines and sinks. Because all of this water is being used, it is being taken away from the environment. Humans, including me, need to start conserving water and be more cautious with how much they use. Many animals aren’t supplied with as much water because humans take it for granted. Humans also make the water unusable, or hard to deal with. Cars, planes, smoke and other factors pollute our air and oceans. In class, we made a mini replica or display of the cycles, reservoirs and humans. As time went on, we added in blue dye, which represented pollution. This replica really helped me understand how water works, and how humans have to be cautious of how much we use or waste.
